Liese Malaysia released a Facebook contest as their digital marketing campaign in anticipation of CNY 2018. Working with IH Digital, a digital marketing agency in Malaysia, Liese used an animated micro video for the wall contest as an online marketing strategy. The purpose of this micro video is to strengthen the promotion of the hair colour brand’s featured line (Red/Pink Brown Series). It is also to engage with their social media audience.
The 18-second animated micro video features a Liese model and the product line in an alluring festive Chinese New Year backdrop. The video is designed in a way where each shade in the featured line will be given a few seconds of spotlight. This is to provide ample time for the fans ample time to pause and screenshot their pick. As part of the mechanics of the Facebook contest, fans are tasked to share a screengrab of their favourite shade accompanied by a creative caption as to why it was their pick in the comment section. There are 5 consolation prize winners from this Facebook contest. The one with the most creative caption will take home a Forever 21 voucher worth RM300.
